I'll start with my story: A year or two ago, I began looking up bands like The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Reel Big Fish on YouTube. Later that year, I got my first smartphone during summer, which was quickly filled with this newfangled ska I had just found. I kid you not, I listened to nothing but the Bosstones, RBF, and Mustard Plug for a year. Thankfully, I listen to other bands now, from all three eras--everything from Mephiskapheles to The Specials to The Skatalites--but I still play something by the Bosstones nearly every day.

I don't think two stories were the same. Really interesting to hear all these different experiences. I was 16 and listening to Korn, papa roach and loads of Nu-metal then at college the 'skaters' were playing bosstones on the cafe juke box (impression that i get) and i was hooked. I downloaded everything from Ltj, mustard plug, mad caddies etc. Then and purely coincidentally one of my mates from my home town started putting on ska and punk gigs. These gigs were the best thing about being 16-20.

I saw Mustard plug on their first every Uk tour, we had lightyear and lubby nugget, farse played a lot. There were gigs Every saturday. I was lucky the gig scene is nowhere near as good now.
